If you are going to be rejected, being told they love your artwork is a pretty good way of doing it.
I thought “I can justifiably procrastinate by doing silhouettes for each of the pages in the book.”
I was surprised when they called me back at 4 pm and said all I needed to do was to pay the permit fee and they would e-mail me the permit.
The problem is, I can’t just pull Richard Hull out of my back pocket every time I’m working on a piece and say, “What does it need?”
I chose to do this not to make life more difficult for myself, but because my old service wasn’t uploading images. Since images are my product, I didn’t have much of a choice.
